We catch up with a few great alumni below. Help us complete more families by helping animals like Kit Kat and Dizzy find forever homes this week!

Luna
“My sweet girl, Luna, a Washington Humane Society alum, was a great flower girl in my wedding last weekend. Cute, no?”
-Anna Miller

We sure think so, Anna! Congratulations!

Update: Fort Meade Firehouse Dog Lost

Update: Fort Meade Firehouse Dog Lost

Update: Thanks for all your help! Bo, the Fort Meade Firehouse dog, was found.

The Fort Meade Fire Department needs your help in locating a member of the family.

On Wednesday, during the Fourth of July celebrations "Bo" the firehouse dog (seen above) was startled by the fireworks, ran off and has not returned since. He was last seen exiting the Mapes Road and Highway 32 gate.

If you have any information on Bo, a Kurdish Kangal breed, please call the Fort Meade Fire Department at (301) 677-3805.

WHS Alumni Update

We celebrate a few of this week’s alumni below. Please help us make more alumni this weekend—check out our end of Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month Meow Mixer on Saturday for your last chance to adopt a feline friend for no fee! The event will take place at our Behavior & Leaning Center at 7315 Georgia Avenue NW, from noon to 5 p.m. If now isn’t a good time to adopt, consider joining our life-saving foster volunteer team.

Mahogany
Katarina Vilkman has kept up with us through the years after she adopted pup Mahogany and took several WHS Behavior & Learning classes and private training sessions. Her latest happy update—the family is officially growing:
“Dan and I got engaged and we included Mahogany in our engagement photo session! The photographer just loved her!”
