Prince George’s County Health Department Offering Free Dental Screenings From Children

Free dental screenings for children 0 to 18 years of age will be offered at the Cheverly Health Center on a walk-in basis.  Throughout the month of February, in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Prince George’s County Health Department’s Dental Health program will offer free screenings to children 0 to 18 years of age. 

 

Prince George's County Launches HIV Awareness Campaign

The Prince George’s County Health Department is hosting a press conference to launch its HIV Awareness Campaign, responding to the alarming levels of HIV cases in Prince George’s County.

“Maryland ranks fourth in the United States and territories for the number of HIV cases reported,” said Dr. Donald Shell, M.D., M.A., Health Officer for the Health Department. “We hope that this campaign will raise awareness about the prevalence of HIV in the area and urge residents to get tested and treated.”

The event takes place on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
