Washington, D.C.- Jeannie "Kitty of the City” Jones, media personality of WPGC 95.5/Fox 5 News and Ready Set Impact, a multi-media company, hosted “Grant My Wish” holiday event with her Grant My Wish Foundation December 21st through the 23rd.
This weekend long event began on Friday and featured a 24 hour drive at the 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue Starbucks along with WPGC their radio partner. Rapper T.I. made a special appearance along with US Marines to assist with the toy collection.
All toys collected during the 24-hour toy drive benefitted three organizations ranging from national to local. This included: Toys for Tots, run by the Marine Corps Reserve and selected families in need from the local organizations Bread for the City and Coalition for the Homeless.
On Sunday, after the 24 hour collection, Jones distributed over 600 toys to the charities and visited the families personally to deliver gifts to the families. The event concluded that evening with a Jazz concert at Bohemian Caverns featuring the Jolly Brothers.
Jones was very happy to see so many DC residents come out to support the event and looks forward to making this a national event next year in all the major cities.
