The following information was sent from Imelda C. Abella or Edith Chatman:

On Wednesday, October 12, 2011, County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III will join other Prince George’s County elected and government officials to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Prince George’s County Administration Building in Upper Marlboro from 4pm-5pm. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Many Backgrounds, Many Stories…One American Spirit,” which was adopted from the Federal Government National Hispanic Heritage Celebration.

The Federal Government has designated September 15th to October 15th as Hispanic Heritage Month. At this event, Prince George’s County will highlight its Hispanic community through cultural presentations, stories, songs and speeches. In addition to the cultural entertainment, there will be a display of artwork by participants from the Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers.

The event is presented by the Office of the County Executive, the Office of the County Council, the Office of Community Relations, Prince George’s County Public Schools, the Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers, and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning commission.
