Prince George's County Track Club Wins Big at AAU Jr. Olympics | Community Spirit
Track Express Track Club (TETC), Prince George County's finest track club has been competing in the AAU Jr. Olympics track meets for over 15 years, breaking records and winning a number of gold medals year after year.
This year, it is no different in Norfolk, VA, with member, Rashad Manning breaking the record in the Javelin Throw for the youth boys. He also won the gold in the Discus and silver in the Shot put. Kellon Taylor, came in 4th in the Pentathlon event and 4th in the shot put.
Champ Page, won the bronze in the 400 meter race and Taivon Jacobs, came in 5th place in that race also for Intermediate Boys.
Jordyn Johnson, sub-bantam girl, came in 5th in the 100 meter race and 6th in the 200 meter race.
TETC relay teams also received the following medals: Bantam boys won 7th in 4x100 and won the silver in 4x400, Ethan Fogle, Matthew Henderson, Jermaine Johnson and Housman Timite; Midget girls, Treyah Johnson, Tamir Jacobs, Lauren Perry, Samaria Ward and Alexis Williams came in 8th place in the 4x100 and won the bronze in the 4x400; Midget boys, Jordan Beslow, Christian Braswell, Anthony McFarland and Bert Watson won the silver in the 4x100; Youth boys, Jared Allen, John Hightower, Tyamonee Johnson and Troy Roundtree came in 5th place in the 4x800, Isaiah Akil, John Hightower, Tyamonee Johnson and Marcelle Preston won 5th place for the 4x400; Intermediate Boys, Shamir Dozier, Joseph Hayman, Taivon Jacobs and Champ Page won the gold in the 4x400 with a time of 3:19 and came in 5th in the 4x100.
TETC coaches, board members and parents are very proud of the accomplishments of the athletes this year. The club registered 132 athletes, and 91 of the athletes competed at the AAU Jr. Olympics in Norfolk, VA.
